KRALENDIJK – Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB) has named local artist Cheky Zimmerman and dive professional Ilse DeLoyer as its Bonaire Friends for May and June 2026, recognizing their positive impact on visitors to the island.
Zimmerman was nominated by visitors from the United States, who described how a chance meeting through his artwork grew into a lasting friendship over several visits to Bonaire. DeLoyer was recognized by returning diver Clovis Stair for her professionalism, enthusiasm and personal care as a dive master, instructor and boat captain, earning her the nickname “Dive Angel.”
The Bonaire Friends initiative invites visitors to nominate residents who have helped make their stay on the island memorable through exceptional hospitality, kindness or service.
