KRALENDIJK / ORANJESTAD – From August 18 to 31, 2026, Aruba is hosting the prestigious IPSC Panamerican Handgun Championship 2026, organized by IPSC Aruba and the Aruba Practical Shooters Club. Among the more than 550 participants are Bonairean shooters Stephen Salas and Ethuriel Nicolaas, competing under the banner of the IPSC-CUW Curaçao region.

The championship takes place at the ‘Canchi di Tiro David de la Fuente’ shooting range in Aruba. Competitors face a grueling program of 24 stages, requiring a minimum of 436 shots to complete the full course, a discipline that demands speed, precision, technique and mental focus in equal measure.

Bonaire represented

Although Stephen Salas and Ethuriel Nicolaas compete under the IPSC-CUW Curaçao region, both shooters live and train on Bonaire. They are members of Tirabon, the local shooting sports association. Salas competes in the Standard category, Nicolaas in the Production category. It is not their first international appearance together, at the Aruba Open Ironman 2025 they already showed what Bonairean shooters are capable of. The local sports community wishes them the best of luck on the Pan-American stage.
