Prime Ministers of Sint Maarten and Aruba Join Forces for Regional Cooperation

ORANJESTAD – Prime Minister Luc Mercelina of Sint Maarten arrived in Aruba on January 28, where he was received by Prime Minister Mike Eman.

Prime Minister Eman pointed out that Mercelina is visiting Aruba for the first time in more than fifteen years and called the Common Good Conference an opportunity for dialogue about a shared future.

Mercelina emphasized that the region, as Small Island Developing States, must work together to address challenges such as climate change and economic vulnerability. He stressed the need for sharing knowledge and resources.

Eman indicated that the conference serves as a platform to discuss how the common good can improve quality of life. Mercelina concluded by expressing his hope for fruitful discussions and invited Aruba to further strengthen mutual ties, referring to their shared history.
