
ST. JOHN’S, Antigua and Barbuda – Youth, educators, civil society organizations and community members gathered at Rising Sun Grounds in St. John’s on Friday for a peace walk held as part of a Caribbean-wide initiative promoting peace, unity and cooperation.
The event was organized by the International Peace Youth Group (IPYG) in partnership with Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) and Junior Chamber International (JCI) Antigua. Participants took part in a symbolic walk, discussions and other activities aimed at encouraging dialogue and inspiring young people to contribute to more peaceful and inclusive communities.
Regional commitment
The Antigua event was held simultaneously with similar peace walks in several CARICOM member states, including Barbados, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad and Tobago, underscoring a shared regional commitment to peace and community development.
