KRALENDIJK - Following the inauguration of Dennis Martinus (MPB) as the new commissioner on behalf of MPB in the Executive Council of Bonaire, former commissioner Joselito Statia has transferred the ongoing files to him.

Statia briefed Martinus on the state of affairs within his former portfolio and indicated his willingness to continue offering guidance and support in the period ahead.

Martinus has stated that he will carry out his work within the framework of the Mini-Coalition Agreement ‘Ordená | Stabilisá | Avansá’ of the UPB/MPB/Fractie Serberie coalition. Until the island council elections in March 2027, the coalition’s focus will be on financial recovery, infrastructure, waste management, permit issuance, public order and good governance.

Martinus emphasises that the commissioners and island governor John Soliano jointly aim to work on restoring trust and taking concrete action on the urgent issues facing the island.
