KRALENDIJK – The new Executive Council of Bonaire officially established its portfolio distribution during the meeting of July 22, 2026. It is now clear which deputy is responsible for which policy area and who serves as a substitute in case of absence.
Deputy Jennifer Mohamedjoenoes has been assigned the portfolios of public finances and taxation, inter-governmental and regional affairs, economy, entrepreneurship and sustainable tourism, diaspora and remigration, and real estate and housing. She heads the Directorate of Policy and Support and the Directorate of Supervision and Enforcement.
Deputy Timoteo Silberie is responsible for education and educational housing, sports and recreation, arts and culture, and public health. He leads the Directorate of Community and Care.
Deputy Dennis Martinus holds the most extensive spatial portfolio: animal welfare, spatial planning and prosperity, infrastructure and water management, agriculture, fisheries and food security, and nature, environment and ecological restoration. He leads the Directorate of Spatial Planning and Development.
Lieutenant Governor John Soliano chairs the Island Council, the Executive Council and the General Meeting of Shareholders. His portfolio covers good governance, public order and safety, crisis management and disaster response.
Substitution arrangement
For situations in which a deputy is absent, the Executive Council has established a rotating substitution schedule: Martinus substitutes for Mohamedjoenoes, Mohamedjoenoes substitutes for Silberie, and Silberie substitutes for Martinus. This ensures continuity of governance at all times.
