
THE BOTTOM, Saba – Jocelyn Levenstone was officially sworn in as Island Governor of Saba on Thursday, marking the start of his appointment after taking office on July 1.
Levenstone was sworn in by Acting Kingdom Representative Jan Helmond during a ceremony of the Island Council. His appointment, made on the recommendation of the State Secretary for Kingdom Relations and Effective Government, makes him Saba’s first new Island Governor in 18 years.
During the ceremony, Helmond praised Levenstone’s integrity and professionalism, saying those qualities would serve him well in his new role as Island Governor.
Following the swearing-in, residents had the opportunity to congratulate Levenstone on his appointment.
