Police check seatbelt compliance on St. Eustatius

ORANJESTAD, St. Eustatius – Police carried out planned traffic checks on Oranjebaaiweg and Charles A. Arnaud Road on Tuesday, September 8, with a particular focus on the use of seatbelts.

Five vehicles were checked on Oranjebaaiweg. One driver received a warning for not wearing a seatbelt, while two others were fined – one for driving without valid insurance and another for failing to wear a seatbelt.

Two vehicles were checked on Charles A. Arnaud Road. Both drivers were fined, one for failing to produce a driver’s licence and the other for not wearing a seatbelt.

The Caribbean Netherlands Police Force (KPCN) reminded motorists that both drivers and passengers are required to wear seatbelts and said traffic checks will continue.
