ORANJESTAD, St. Eustatius - A 51-year-old man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol following a collision involving two pick-up trucks on Sint Eustatius.

The incident occurred around 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, on Dr. H.A. Korthalsweg. Police administered breath tests to both drivers under the “botsen is blazen” policy, which requires drivers involved in a collision to be tested for alcohol.

The test showed that the suspect, identified by the initials W.H.B., had exceeded the legal alcohol limit. He received a five-hour driving ban, and police are preparing an official report.
