
ORANJESTAD, St. Eustatius – A traffic control on Van Tonningenweg on Thursday afternoon resulted in ten fines being issued for a range of violations.
Officers checked seven cars and one scooter during the operation on August 13. Four motorists were fined for driving without wearing a seatbelt, while two vehicles were found to have unpaid road tax. Two other fines were issued for vehicles without a front license plate.
One driver was fined for not having valid insurance, while the rider of the scooter received a fine for riding without a helmet.
Police said traffic controls on St. Eustatius will continue.
