Road safety measures discussed for Point Blanche Prison construction

PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten - Representatives of the Ministry of VROMI, contractors involved in constructing the new Point Blanche Prison and the Sint Maarten Police Force met at KPSM Headquarters on Thursday, July 23, to coordinate road safety measures for the project.

Discussions focused on safely transporting construction equipment and trucks while limiting disruption for residents, motorists and pedestrians in the Point Blanche area. Participants also considered ways to reduce the project’s impact on the surrounding neighbourhood without unnecessarily hindering construction.

KPSM said coordination among the parties will continue throughout the different construction phases, with traffic management, public order and the safety of road users remaining priorities.
