KRALENDIJK - The Council of Ministers of the Kingdom has approved, on the recommendation of Minister Van Weel of Justice and Security, the appointment of K.K. (Karola) van Nie as Chief Public Prosecutor for Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba. Once she has been sworn in, she will succeed W.E. (Walter) Kupers.

Van Nie currently serves as National Public Prosecutor for Witness Protection at the National Public Prosecution Service. She previously held various positions within the Public Prosecution Service, including on Sint Maarten as a public prosecutor for juvenile cases, where she focused on handling youth cases and the associated policy.

Continuity at OM BES

According to the spokesperson of the OM BES, the appointment guarantees that the Public Prosecution Service on Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba will continue to have experienced and capable leadership.
