ORANJESTAD – The Dutch naval vessel HNLMS Friesland intercepted a drug shipment in the Caribbean Sea on Thursday, April 23. The three crew members of the drug boat surrendered without resistance.

The Caribbean Coast Guard spotted the drug boat and dispatched HNLMS Friesland to intercept it. The naval vessel deployed two fast interceptor craft, also known as FRISCS, to reach the boat.

The suspects and the seized drugs were handed over to the Aruba Police Corps at the Coast Guard Support Base in Savaneta. The drugs have since been destroyed.
