Statia launches dedicated renal care clinic for chronic kidney disease patients
ORANJESTAD, St. Eustatius – The St. Eustatius Health Care Foundation (SEHCF) has launched a new Renal Care Clinic to provide specialized outpatient care for patients living with chronic kidney disease on the island.
Starting August 6, the clinic will offer kidney care services locally, allowing patients to receive treatment and guidance without having to travel abroad. The service focuses on early detection, patient education, lifestyle counseling and regular monitoring to help preserve kidney function and slow the progression of the disease.
The clinic will operate every Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Home Care facility. It will be led by certified dialysis nurse and Renal Care Case Manager Sineida Paul-Suares under the medical supervision of Dr. Sharda Baboe-Kalpoe. Patients will be referred by an SEHCF physician or a nephrologist.
Extension of Chronic Care Clinic
According to SEHCF, the new clinic is an extension of its Chronic Care Clinic and represents another step in expanding specialized healthcare services on St. Eustatius. The foundation says the initiative is intended to improve access to kidney care, support healthier lifestyles and enhance the quality of life for patients with chronic kidney disease.
