KRALENDIJK – The Directorate of Supervision and Enforcement has begun cleaning up and restoring the parking area at Stadion di Playa. The site was used for years to store containers, trailers, heavy equipment, and other objects. As a result, the area is barely available for its original purpose and the situation has created dangerous conditions.
A safe and orderly public space is important for everyone on Bonaire. The directorate is therefore addressing the restoration process in phases. Owners who are known to the Public Entity Bonaire (OLB) have already been personally informed. Where necessary, agreements are being made with the parties involved, so that the site can be cleared and restored step by step in a safe and careful manner.
The directorate will continue to monitor the site and verify compliance with applicable regulations. The restoration process will be carried out in the coming period according to schedule. The goal is to return the site in various phases to its original purpose: safe, orderly, and accessible to everyone.
The directorate expressed appreciation for the cooperation and understanding of all parties involved. "Together we are working on the restoration of the site, so that it can once again be used safely and in accordance with its designated purpose," according to a press release from the OLB on Tuesday.
The directorate promises to keep residents regularly informed of progress. Updates on the restoration and clean-up process at Stadion di Playa will be communicated through the OLB.
