KRALENDIJK – Fundashon Alzheimer Boneiru (FAB) has organised a series of masterclasses at schools and a public event with coach Ariadna Nicasia-Schoop, as part of its programme for World Alzheimer Month.

With these activities, FAB aims to raise awareness about dementia and Alzheimer’s among a younger audience. Between Wednesday 16 and Friday 18 September, Nicasia-Schoop visited VMBO, MBO, Forma, EO and Pro. In addition to her work as a coach, she is also a caregiver for her mother, who has Alzheimer’s.

The programme continued on Saturday 19 September with the masterclass ‘Brain Connections and Cognitive Wellness’ at Captain Don’s Habitat. According to FAB, the venue — with a capacity of 100 people — was completely full. During the session, Nicasia-Schoop explained how the brain works, how new connections are formed, and what people can do to support their cognitive health.

The visit was made financially possible by MCBB and Zorg en Welzijn Groep. Prior to the masterclasses, FAB and Nicasia-Schoop visited various radio stations and television programmes to inform the community about the programme.
