ORANJESTAD, St. Eustatius – STENAPA has planted six breadfruit saplings in partnership with Made in Statia as part of an initiative to strengthen local food security on St. Eustatius.

According to STENAPA, the trees were donated by the Trees That Feed Foundation, raised by the national park organization, and are now being planted at locations across the island where they are expected to provide a sustainable source of food in the future.

The planting marks the first phase of a broader effort, with additional rounds of fruit tree planting planned in collaboration with Made in Statia.

The ReforeStatia project is made possible through the Statia Government’s Nature and Environment Policy Program (NEPP).
