KRALENDIJK – Water and Energy Company Bonaire (WEB) has been experiencing technical problems with the Pagabon system since Friday. Due to the outage, no new Pagabon tokens can currently be generated. According to WEB, the problems affect all points of sale, including the head office.
Pagabon is the prepaid electricity system on Bonaire. Customers purchase electricity credit in advance and receive a token, a numeric code entered into the electricity meter to load the purchased credit.
WEB initially reported a brief technical interruption, but later announced that the outage is lasting longer than expected. Work on a solution is still ongoing.
For customers at risk of running out of prepaid credit due to the outage, WEB has temporarily made a WhatsApp helpline number available: 7016215. Support can be requested via this number. WEB emphasizes that voice calls cannot be answered via WhatsApp.
