KRALENDIJK – A group of ten students from youth center Jong Bonaire, accompanied by two group leaders, recently visited the customs harbor office.
During their visit, the students were given demonstrations of customs operations, including the use of the customs dog and patrol boat. They also had the opportunity to try on bulletproof vests and helmets to experience what the equipment feels like in practice.
The goal of the visit was to introduce the students to customs procedures and give them insight into the daily work of customs officers. They also received information about various career opportunities within the Customs service.
Engaging
According to Customs staff, it was a successful and engaging event — especially since the students were particularly fascinated by the customs dog and asked many questions about its role.
