KRALENDIJK – Petrol on Bonaire will drop by six cents per litre from Friday, August 28. The price of Mogas 95 will fall from USD 1.70 to USD 1.64 per litre. Diesel will also decrease by six cents, from USD 1.38 to USD 1.32 per litre.
A fifty-litre fill-up of petrol will therefore be USD 3.00 cheaper. For fifty litres of diesel, the saving is likewise USD 3.00.
According to the announcement, the lower prices are the result of recent developments on the international market and lower fuel purchasing costs.
Cooking gas cheaper, kerosene unchanged
Cooking gas will also drop in price. From Friday, a large gas cylinder will cost USD 54.00 instead of USD 57.00, a reduction of USD 3.00. A small gas cylinder will go from USD 12.00 to USD 11.00.
The price of kerosene remains unchanged at USD 0.81.
Excise duty
The prices were determined in accordance with the rules set out in the Temporary Excise Duty Reduction Decree Caribbean Netherlands 2022 of March 25, 2022, and the 2023 Tax Plan. As of January 1, 2024, the excise duty rate for petrol that applied prior to April 1, 2022 is once again in effect.
