KRALENDIJK – A former bus shelter in the centre of Kralendijk has undergone a striking transformation thanks to local artist Ghislaine Monte. The small structure, which appeared to have had little purpose for years, has been adorned with a colourful mural that breathes new life into it.

With her artwork, Monte — known by the name Ghis.Arts — has not only added colour to the public space, but also created a place where people can take a moment to rest, seek shade from the sun, and meet one another.

The upgrade fits within a broader trend in which street art is enriching the streetscape in more and more places across Bonaire. The former bus shelter has thus not only gained a new look, but also renewed significance for the surrounding community.

The artwork was created by Ghislaine Monte (@ghis.arts).
