KRALENDIJK – Akkermans Auto Supplies has expanded its brand portfolio with the Chinese car brand Chery. The official introduction took place last week during the opening of the new showroom on Kaya Amsterdam.
With the arrival of Chery, Akkermans adds a fourth car brand to its existing lineup. The introduction on Bonaire is taking place in partnership with regional distributor Jolley Holding Group.
During the opening event, visitors had the opportunity to view the new models and take test drives. Chery also served as a sponsor of the Festival Kanto Krioyo earlier this year.
Broader trend
The expansion is part of a broader trend in which an increasing number of Chinese car brands have found their way to the Caribbean market in recent years, including Bonaire. This further widens consumer choice, both in the passenger car and SUV segments.
