ORANJESTAD, St. Eustatius – Two additional ATMs have officially become operational on St. Eustatius, improving access to cash for residents, businesses and visitors.
The new machines are located at Eutel N.V. and the Charles A. Woodley Pier (Statia Harbour). A third ATM has already been installed at F.D. Roosevelt Airport and is expected to enter service soon, while a fourth machine is planned for another location at a later stage.
The expansion is the result of a partnership between De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB), the Public Entity St. Eustatius and Brink’s aimed at strengthening the island’s cash infrastructure. The ATMs were officially inaugurated on Thursday, July 2, with Island Councilwoman Mercedes Lopes-Spanner making the first withdrawal alongside representatives of DNB, Brink’s and members of the community.
For now, the new ATMs accept Visa cards only. Efforts are underway to add Mastercard support in the future.
Commissioner Rechelline Leerdam welcomed the initiative, saying the additional ATMs improve convenience and accessibility while strengthening access to financial services on St. Eustatius. She thanked DNB, Brink’s and the Island Council for their cooperation in making the project possible.
