Fuel prices set to rise sharply at Bonaire pumps

KRALENDIJK - Starting April 24, 2026, fuel retail prices on Bonaire will increase. The adjustments are based on the latest purchase prices and reflect current developments on the international market.

Gasoline prices will rise by 12 cents per liter, while diesel increases by as much as 34 cents per liter. The new prices will be $1.45 per liter for gasoline and $1.33 per liter for diesel. Gas bottle prices are also going up: a small bottle will cost $1 more at $12, while a large bottle will increase by $3 to $55.

Fuel prices are determined by several factors, including the international purchase price, transportation costs from Curaçao to Bonaire, storage and distribution margins, excise duties, general expenditure tax (ABB), and other costs.

The price increases are a direct result of global market conditions. Ongoing geopolitical and economic tensions on the international oil market are driving up costs worldwide — and Bonaire is no exception. The steepest rise is seen in diesel, which has gone up considerably.
