Miroslava I. Wedervoort has been appointed as a member of the Supervisory Board of Bonaire International Airport N.V. (BIA) effective July 8, 2026. The General Meeting of Shareholders appointed her for a period of three years. With her addition, the Supervisory Board now counts four members, further strengthening the commercial and financial expertise within the supervisory body.

The expansion aligns with the phase BIA is currently in. In addition to ensuring safety, continuity, and reliable airport management, BIA aims to explicitly focus in the coming years on the further development of the airport — including commercial activities, route development, real estate, concessions, and the creation of sustainable value.

Wedervoort brings more than forty years of experience in the banking and financial sector, in both executive and supervisory roles. She currently serves as chair of the Fair Trade Authority Curaçao and as a member of the Supervisory Board of the Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten. She previously served as President of the General Audit Chamber of Curaçao. Her expertise in commercial strategy, investment affairs, risk management, and governance is a valuable addition to the current composition of the Board.

A Stronger Supervisory Board

"With the appointment of Ms. Wedervoort, we are strengthening our Board with a highly experienced executive and supervisor. Her knowledge of governance, financial affairs, and commercial strategy, combined with her extensive experience within the Caribbean part of the Kingdom, is a perfect fit for the next development phase of Bonaire International Airport. We look forward to a pleasant and successful collaboration," said Angel Bermudez, chair of the Supervisory Board of BIA.
