ORANJESTAD, St. Eustatius – Golden Rock Resort has announced the integration of local dive operator Scubaqua into its operations, expanding its diving activities on St. Eustatius.
According to the resort, Scubaqua’s management will remain involved in the day-to-day operation, while existing reservations, dive packages and partnerships will continue without interruption.
The integration combines Scubaqua with Statia Divers, which is also owned by Golden Rock Resort owner Peter Barnhoorn. The companies say the move is intended to strengthen dive tourism on the island through expanded operational capacity and closer coordination between accommodation and diving services.
Golden Rock Resort stated that the combined operation will continue to offer diving excursions and resort packages, while maintaining a focus on marine conservation and sustainable tourism.
Scubaqua has been active in St. Eustatius’ diving sector for many years under the management of Marieke van de Wetering and Mike Harterink. According to the companies, their local expertise and team will remain part of the integrated operation.
