ORANJESTAD – The Caribbean Netherlands Police Force (KPCN) has appointed Rexcarlos Courtar as the new community police officer for St. Eustatius, where he succeeds Franciscus Nous.
Courtar brings 17 years of policing experience to the role. For the past nearly three years, he served as community police officer on Saba, working closely with residents, businesses and community partners on issues related to safety and quality of life.
His transfer marks a return to his home island of St. Eustatius. In his new position, Courtar says he aims to strengthen cooperation with residents, schools, businesses and other stakeholders to help maintain a safe and livable community.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed working on Saba over the past few years and am grateful to the community, our partners and my colleagues for the excellent cooperation,” Courtar said. “At the same time, it is an honor to return home. I look forward to using my experience for my island and working together to create a safe and pleasant living environment.”
In the coming weeks, Courtar will introduce himself to residents and local organizations across the island. Community police officers can be contacted about non-emergency matters, neighborhood safety concerns and information that may help improve public safety.
KPCN thanked Courtar for his service on Saba and wished him success in his new role on St. Eustatius.
