
KRALENDIJK – Minister Sterk of Long-Term Care, Youth and Sport will make a working visit to Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba from Monday 27 April through Friday 1 May. During the visit, she will meet with healthcare and welfare institutions, civil society organisations and the Executive Councils to discuss the state of healthcare, youth care and the social domain.
Bonaire
The working visit begins on Bonaire. Among other stops, the Minister will visit women’s shelter Refugio Tabitha and advice and reporting centre Guiami, both active in the field of domestic violence and child abuse.
The following day, visits are scheduled to Fundashon Mariadal, Bonaire Medical Centre, Mental Health Caribbean and Sentro Akseso Boneiru. She will also meet with the Executive Council and hold talks with acting Government Representative Jan Helmond.
On her final day on Bonaire, the Minister will visit FKPD in Rincon and take part in the reopening of the renovated playground Misa di Rincon. She will then meet with representatives of ZW Groep and pay a visit to Rosa di Sharon.
Sint Eustatius
On Sint Eustatius, the Minister will meet with the Executive Council. She will also conduct a home visit in the context of youth care and visit the Sint Eustatius Health Care Foundation and Auxiliary Home. Meetings with the Public Health Department and the Social Directorate are also scheduled.
Saba
On Saba, the Minister will meet with the Executive Council and visit the Domestic Violence Shelter. She will also hold talks with the Community Development and Culture Department. The working visit will conclude at Saba Cares, where part of the new nursing home will be officially opened.
