Bonairean RC talent Ethuriel Nicolaas competes for podium finishes at event on Curaçao

KRALENDIJK / WILLEMSTAD – This Sunday, June 7, Bonairean radio-controlled (RC) racing talent Ethuriel Nicolaas travels to Curaçao for the start of the new racing season. Nicolaas will take to the starting line at ‘Kareda #1’, the opening race of the championship for electric on-road touring cars at 1:10 scale. The popular event is organized by the Curaçao Radio Control Cars Drivers Association (CRCCDA) at the well-known CAS Grandi Raceway.

Ethuriel Nicolaas will represent Bonaire in the competitive 21.5T Stock Class, a racing category that demands the very best from both the driver’s skill behind the wheel and the technical setup of the car. Nicolaas lines up with the high-end Xray X4, one of the most advanced competition chassis in the world.

"The competition on Curaçao is always incredibly tough, but with the Xray X4 we have an excellent platform" says the team around Nicolaas. "During the free practice sessions, the immediate focus will be on finding the right balance and grip on the CAS Grandi asphalt. The goal is simple: fight for the podium and make Bonaire proud."

The event

Race day on Sunday, June 7 kicks off at 10:30 AM with qualifying rounds, followed by the exciting finals in the afternoon. The action is expected to wrap up at around 5:00 PM. In addition to the 21.5T Stock Class, this weekend also sees the debut of the brand-new 17.5T FWD Stock Class (front-wheel drive), which is sure to bring extra spectacle to the track.

The CRCCDA invites all racing fans and supporters to come and cheer on the drivers at Sport Complex CAS Grandi, located behind the former site of HIT 100.3 FM.
