For St. Eustatius and Saba, participation in the inter-island games represents more than sport alone. The event provides young athletes with an opportunity to compete at a higher regional level, strengthen inter-island ties, and gain exposure beyond their home communities. Both islands have been investing steadily in youth sports development in recent years, with basketball emerging as a growing discipline.

Officials expressed appreciation for the opportunity to take part in the competition and highlighted the importance of regional cooperation within the Dutch Caribbean and the wider Caribbean community.
