CASTRIES, Saint Lucia – The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) will host its first Latin American Market Summit in Saint Lucia in May 2027, marking a renewed push to strengthen ties with South America as a growing source market.

The announcement was made during the World Travel Market Latin America in São Paulo, Brazil. The event is expected to bring together regional tourism stakeholders with airlines, tour operators and travel agents from across Latin America.

A key focus will be improving air connectivity between the Caribbean and South American countries such as Argentina, Chile and Brazil, where demand for Caribbean travel is increasing. The initiative builds on earlier findings that point to gaps in direct air services but also significant potential for expansion.

Fast growing market

Latin America has been one of the fastest-growing markets for the region. In 2025, arrivals from South America increased by 23.7 percent to 2.4 million visits, according to CTO data.

The summit is intended to support closer commercial links and translate growing demand into new routes and partnerships.
