THE VALLEY, Anguilla – A new direct air connection between Anguilla and the British Virgin Islands has been launched, with Trans Anguilla Airways operating its inaugural flight to Tortola this week.
The flight was welcomed by officials in both territories, including Natalio Wheatley, who noted the role of improved air links in supporting regional travel and economic activity.
According to information shared by the Government of Anguilla, the service will operate three times per week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The flight time between Anguilla and Tortola is approximately 45 minutes.
The new route provides a direct connection between the two territories, which previously required indirect travel options. Officials indicated that the service is intended to facilitate movement for residents, business travel and tourism between Anguilla and the BVI.
Regional connectivity
The launch forms part of broader efforts to improve regional connectivity among Caribbean islands.
