St. Maarten Police Arrest Suspect Linked to Robbery and Fatal Shooting
PHILIPSBURG – Police in Sint Maarten have arrested a suspect in connection with a 2025 jewelry store robbery and a separate fatal shooting.
The suspect, identified by the initials S.J.F., was arrested by the Sint Maarten Police Force (KPSM) SWAT team in Philipsburg on the evening of August 21. Police said a firearm was found in his possession and confiscated for further investigation.
S.J.F. is suspected in connection with the September 5, 2025 robbery at Royal Caribbean Jewelers and a November 13 shooting in the Fort Willem area that resulted in the death of a young man.
The suspect remains in police custody and will be questioned by detectives from KPSM’s Special Unit Robbery Team and Major Crimes Department.
Police are asking anyone with information about either case to contact KPSM.
