THE BOTTOM – The first 14 X-Blocks for Saba’s new harbor have arrived on the island. The concrete units will be used in the construction of the breakwater designed to protect the new harbor.
The arrival marks another stage in the development of the harbor project, with additional X-Blocks expected as construction progresses.
Commissioner of Infrastructure and Spatial Development Bruce Zagers said the arrival represents an important step in the project and provided an update on the work and the role the X-Blocks will play in protecting the harbor.
The breakwater forms a key part of the new harbor infrastructure and is intended to provide protection from waves and rough sea conditions.
