ORANJESTAD — Gwendoline van Putten School is marking Anti-Bullying Week from September 21–25, with activities promoting kindness, respect and inclusion, including a joint opening event with other schools on Sint Eustatius.
The programme includes discussions and activities to raise awareness of bullying and encourage positive relationships among students. An opening assembly involving schools across the island was scheduled for Monday at the Earl Merkman Sports Auditorium.
On Thursday, September 24, students will participate in a Walkathon/Danceathon Lightning Parade organised in collaboration with the Health Department. The event starts at 6 p.m. at the Earl Merkman Sports Auditorium and ends at the Lions Den. Participating students are asked to wear their gym uniform shirts and jeans.
The week will conclude on Friday with an assembly at Gwendoline van Putten School, hosted by Form 2 students. Parents and guardians are encouraged to talk with their children about kindness, respect and standing up against bullying.
