KRALENDIJK – Qredits Bonaire has launched a new edition of the Agri Business Academy on August 25. The thirteen-week programme prepares thirteen entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs to develop commercial activities in the agricultural sector.
During the programme, participants learn about entrepreneurship development, market research, marketing, cost calculation and financial planning. Step by step, they work on their own business plan and financial plan, with attention to the specific opportunities and challenges of Bonaire.
The programme is not limited to agriculture and livestock farming. The processing of local products, agricultural services and other activities that are part of the food production chain are also covered. Innovative production methods likewise form part of the content.
According to Qredits, the goal is to stimulate entrepreneurship and contribute to a stronger and more sustainable local production, in a situation where Bonaire is largely dependent on imported food.
For the implementation, Qredits works together with organisations and professionals from the sector. The programme is supported by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy.
