KRALENDIJK – The Flamingo Island Veterinary Center has wrapped up an especially productive week, completing not one but two Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) operations across Bonaire.
In total, 37 cats were humanely caught in the areas of Nikiboko, Antriol, Tera Kora, and Playa—16 on Friday and 21 on Tuesday. Of those, 23 were female cats, now sterilized and set to lead healthier, pregnancy-free lives.
The effort was made possible thanks to a dedicated team of volunteers and two veterinarians, who worked tirelessly to support the island’s ongoing animal welfare goals.
168 sterilized cats
Since the TNR project began last year, a total of 168 cats have now been sterilized—an important step toward reducing stray cat populations and promoting animal well-being on the island.
