KRALENDIJK – Bonaire International Airport (BIA) will start the next phase of the construction of the solar park at Flamingo Airport on Wednesday, October 7. The work will mainly be carried out at night, between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m.
During the work, parts of the parking areas will temporarily be designated as work zones. The affected parking spaces remain available during the day, but after the arrival of the last flight, vehicles must be removed from the designated work zones.
BIA will place temporary signs indicating which parking spaces must be vacated. Visitors and travelers are asked to follow the directions and instructions on site.
Sustainability
With the installation of, among other things, solar panels on the parking areas, Flamingo Airport aims to take an important step towards making its airport operations more sustainable.
