KRALENDIJK - Twelve literary projects in Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao and Sint Maarten will jointly receive €347,063 in funding through the Literatuur Caribe scheme of the Dutch Foundation for Literature.
The support goes, among other things, to a book series and poetry collection by Aruban author Olga Buckley. On Bonaire, Biblioteka Públiko Boneiru is developing a reading promotion project around the picture book Zachter dan zout. On Curaçao, Stichting de Cultuur Kameleon is working on the multilingual children’s book De Reis van de Troepiaal.
In Sint Maarten, Epic Center Foundation receives funding for the translation of Ralph Cantave’s young adult novel Steve Takes a Stand into Papiamentu and Dutch. A book tour and reading and writing workshops for children are also planned.
Literatuur Caribe promotes literature from the Caribbean part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, with particular attention to Papiamentu and Papiamento. A new application round opens on 7 September 2026.
