BELIZE CITY, BELIZE– Airline JetBlue will discontinue its direct service between New York (JFK) and Belize City, according to reports by 7 News Belize citing statements from the carrier.
JetBlue launched the Belize route in 2023 with three weekly flights, but the service will end on May 21, 2026. A company spokesperson indicated that the route did not meet performance expectations and that the airline will reallocate aircraft to routes where it can operate more sustainably and profitably.
Restructuring
The decision forms part of a broader restructuring program. Earlier this year, JetBlue also ended its flights to Bonaire after only a limited period of operation, as the route reportedly proved unprofitable and required continued financial support.
