
PHILIPSBURG – Windward Islands Airways International (Winair) has added a fourth ATR 42-500 aircraft to its fleet, bringing the total number of aircraft in operation to nine. The expansion more than doubles the size of the fleet compared to 2023.
According to the company, the additional aircraft will support scheduled operations during the peak travel season and provide flexibility for charter services.
The ATR 42-500 is designed for short-haul routes and is known for its fuel efficiency and suitability for inter-island travel. Winair stated that the aircraft will help maintain the reliability of its network and could enable the addition of one or two new destinations in the near future.
Growth
The airline reported growth in the first half of 2025, including increases in capacity, passenger numbers, and revenue compared to 2024.
