ORANJESTAD – The senior Aloei Dancers marked Black History Month on Tuesday, February 24, with their traditional round-the-town sale of homemade treats and local delicacies, a long-standing tradition the group has maintained for more than two decades.

As part of the day’s activities, the dancers also paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Council. Members were warmly received and enjoyed a brief gathering, including local refreshments and a commemorative photo moment.

The Aloei group, known for its role in preserving Bonaire’s cultural traditions through music and dance, will celebrate its 25th anniversary later this year. The jubilee festivities are scheduled to take place on August 5 and 6, 2026.
