KRALENDIJK - At exactly 00:00 on December 16, Stichting Nationale Parken Bonaire (STINAPA) officially launched the 2026 Nature Fee, opening the new fee period that helps fund the protection and management of Bonaire’s most important natural areas.
The Nature Fee plays a central role in financing conservation on the island. Funds collected are reinvested directly into the management of Bonaire National Marine Park and Washington Slagbaai National Park, supporting core activities such as enforcement, monitoring, infrastructure maintenance, visitor management, education, and long-term conservation initiatives.
With the introduction of the 2026 Nature Fee, STINAPA reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding Bonaire’s unique marine and terrestrial ecosystems. The fee enables continued protection of the natural resources that are vital to the island’s environment, economy, and quality of life for both residents and visitors.
The Nature Fee is required for visitors who participate in activities within Bonaire’s protected natural areas, including snorkeling, diving, hiking, and other nature-based experiences. The system is designed to be straightforward and transparent, allowing visitors to contribute directly to conservation while enjoying the island’s renowned natural beauty.
The fee can be paid online at https://stinapa.bonairenaturefee.org/. Visitors are also encouraged to familiarize themselves with park regulations and responsible practices to help minimize their environmental impact.
