
KRALENDIJK – The second phase of the 2026 Inter-Island Games took place in Curaçao from March 12 to 15, bringing together young athletes from Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Saba, St. Eustatius, St. Maarten and Suriname.
Participants from primary and secondary schools competed in a range of sports, including football, volleyball, dodgeball and chess. The event also marked the first participation of Suriname, expanding the regional scope of the games.
During the Curaçao leg, a three-year cooperation agreement was signed between the Johan Cruyff Foundation and sports organizations from Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao, aimed at further strengthening youth sports and inter-island competitions.

The final stage of the Inter-Island Games 2026 will take place in Aruba from March 26 to 29, where athletes will compete in aquathlon, athletics and volleyball, concluding this year’s regional sporting event.
