KRALENDIJK – Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao have signed a new agreement to extend the Inter-Island Games by four years. The first edition under the renewed accord will begin in February 2026 on Bonaire.

The agreement was signed by Deputy Peter Silberie on behalf of Bonaire, Minister Sithree van Heydoorn on behalf of Curaçao, and Minister Gerlien Croes on behalf of Aruba. The new Memorandum of Understanding replaces the initial three-year agreement that was signed on Bonaire in 2022.

The 2026 Inter-Island Games will begin in February on Bonaire with three sports. The athletes will then travel to Curaçao as the host island. The games will conclude in March on Aruba.

Over the past three years, the games have delivered many successes for young athletes from the three islands, according to the organization. With the new four-year agreement, the continuation of the sporting event is secured until 2030.
