KRALENDIJK – Tera Barra Foundation is calling on Bonaire residents to help make the island greener. Starting Thursday, October 23rd, the organization will give away no fewer than 800 free Kibrahacha seedlings to residents.
The Kibrahacha, known for its beautiful bright yellow flowers that suddenly burst into bloom after rainfall during the dry season, is one of Bonaire’s most iconic native trees. Unfortunately, the number of Kibrahacha trees on the island has been declining for years.
With this initiative, Tera Barra aims to change that trend. "We hope many people will come pick up a sapling and give it a place in their garden or neighborhood," says a foundation spokesperson. "Together, we can bring back the beauty of the Kibrahacha to our streetscape."
Everyone can pick up one free sapling per person at Tera Barra on Thursday and Friday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, or on Saturday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Please note: supplies are limited – first come, first served.
So: do you have space in your garden or neighborhood for a new tree? Plant a Kibrahacha and contribute to a greener Bonaire!
