KRALENDIJK – INDEBON and the Bonaire Basketball Federation (BBF), with support from the Netherlands Basketball Federation (NBB), will organize a full week dedicated to basketball development.
At the center of the program is “She Got Game,” an initiative for girls, developed with support from the NBB to inspire and train the next generation of female players on Bonaire.
The program will begin with a free basketball clinic for girls on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at the Jorge Nicolaas Sports Hall. The clinic will introduce participants to the basic fundamentals of basketball in a fun and supportive environment.
During the week, INDEBON and BBF will also organize referee and coaching courses provided by the NBB. These courses represent the first step in an official certification pathway aimed at strengthening basketball in the region.
As part of the week, representatives from Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, St. Eustatius and Saba will meet to discuss regional cooperation, development, competition structures and future initiatives.
Inter-Island Games
The week will conclude with the Inter-Island Games basketball tournament on Friday, February 27, and Saturday, February 28, 2026. School champions from the six islands will compete, with Suriname participating as a new entrant.
Competitions will take place at both primary and secondary school levels. The tournament, supported by the NBB, will showcase the best youth talent and promote unity and sportsmanship.
